CORONA VIRUS – a letter from the clergy
Dear Friends at Church and the wider parish
Peace be with you all!
You’ll know by now that we’ve got to stop public services in our churches. This does not mean that our prayer and worship must cease. Rather we need to continue to pray for God’s help and guidance as we move through the next few weeks to Easter and beyond.
We are called to pray for all those who are suffering with this Virus, for the isolated and frightened. We remember that this is the season of Lent, a time when our Lord withdrew for a time into the wilderness in order to pray. So many of us are in isolation of necessity, and this is an opportunity to spend more time in prayer and Bible reading. Prayer in the churches of our parish will continue, and we will have times when churches are open for prayer, and we will notify you shortly of these times when a decision about them has been made. Taking all necessary protection and observing social distancing, please come and use our churches for prayer, when we notify you of opening times.
In the meantime the clergy intend to keep in touch with parishioners by email and or Text.
The clergy have had Eucharist this morning and prayed for all of you. Be assured that this prayer and holding of you will continue.
With love and prayers
Sue and Philip
